Short & Sweet

Good Morning! Today will be short and sweet... my baby (okay, not such a baby - 20 month old) has a slight fever and needs his mama. Seems like every time I take my kids to the doctor for a well-baby visit, they pick something up. I can't really complain though... my kids are usually healthy and for that I am very grateful.

Here's a birth announcement I made for a friend using the new Shabby Rose kit, available at Liddy's Loft in a few days. Everything in the layout is mine, except for the gorgeous dangling rose pendant, which was made by the fabulously talented Kryss Bourque (also a liddy's designer!). I changed some details in the birth announcement to protect their privacy.

Thanks for all your sweet comments yesterday. The link for the flowers will be up indefinitely, so send your friends over to pick them up!

Technical Difficulties

What a morning! I am doing a freelance project and went to save it to my hardrive this morning. Got a lovely little message that I never thought I'd see: Disk Full. I have a 60gig HD *just* for my scrapbooking and design stuff and it's full????? So, I spent hours clearing out some things and burning DVDs. I wanted to post a freebie today, but for obvious reasons, I'll have to put that on hold.

Last night I uploaded a new kit to Liddy's Loft called Shabby Rose (I know... not a very original name but it fit, lol)
Liddy's Boutique

Here's the preview:

Shabby Rose Kit
$5.75

This huge kit comes with 8 papers, 2 lace frames, 2 tags, 2 ribbons, 4 brads, 2 decorated paper clips, one rose embellishment, one ribbon rose and 2 FULL alphas! Wow... something for the shabby in everyone! Great for little girls layouts and birth announcements!

I really love this one... it's right up my alley with the girly, shabby style. I made a birth announcement for a friend with it, which I'll post at Liddy's gallery soon.

Have a great day!

Thanks For Your Comments!

***Edit - All emails have been sent. If you haven't received your tag, please email me at sliden@hotmail.com***

I just want to let everyone know that I got your comments and will be sending out the rest of the Birthstone Tags today. I tried to do them all last night, but DH and the kids were whining, saying they were hungry or something :o). I need to get them on an IV drip so I can design all day long! Just kiddin'... kind of. LOL!

The complete set of tags will be coming to the Liddy's Loft Boutique very soon, so if you missed the blog freebie or you need more than one, you can pick them up there.
Liddy's Boutique

You know what really surprised me about getting to know my blog readers? I had no idea that digital scrapping was so widespread. I have comments from people all over the world! If you ever need something (word art, alpha letters... anything) in another language besides English, don't hesititate to email me. I already have a couple of alpha sets with French and Spanish accented letters, but any requests will be considered!

I'm working on some fun things for Liddy's Grand Opening on May 1st. Lots of prizes and fun... be sure to come!

Have a beautiful day!

New Birthstone Metal Tags

Here's a layout I did using my new Pocket Full of Posies paper pack. It's really flowery, but versatile enough to use on a boy's layout too. The alpha is my Blue Silver (recolored) and the brads are mine, but brand new so I'll be adding them to a kit soon. This is my son, AJ, who is now 20 months old. The photo was taken last August while we were vacationing in Maine. He doesn't sit still like this anymore, lol.

I've been working on some elements to put in the Liddy's Loft Boutique. Look for them sometime later this week!

Have a great day!

Shot Update

Well... my kids did great at their doctor visit and are totally fine today. I was worried about nothing. Marina cried for about 3 seconds (until the Bugs Bunny bandaid was placed on her arm) and AJ took it like a champ and didn't let out a peep. My little tough guy. They're happily playing together, pretending that they're puppies. LOL!

My Red Lotus Kit is now up at Liddy's Loft!

Red Lotus
$5.50

This kit was inspired by an Asian flower garden. There are 8 papers (some with texture and some without), 2 flower borders, 2 ribbon embellishments, 3 glass page pebbles, 2 Asian inspired elements, 3 tags and 2 stitched frames.

I also wanted to note that I've changed my TOU. All my purchased kits are now for commercial use! So... if you bought anything in the Liddy's Loft Boutique that doesn't have the new TOU, don't worry about it. It's fine to use for any commercial work, including scrap-for-hire and graphic design. Here's the new TOU:

Thank you for your business!

These graphics have been made for you by Susan Long. The items are designed for your personal scrapbooking use, but may be used for any commercial work, personal websites (with credit to Susan Long at Go-LongDesign.com, please) and scrap-for-hire businesses. If you puchased this kit, it's yours!

Feel free to alter these images to fit your scrapbooking needs, including resizing, recoloring and cropping. If you use these graphics in a layout submitted to an online gallery, magazine or other publication, credit to me, Susan Long, would be greatly appreciated.

But....

****Please do not share these graphics!****

You may not offer them in any other graphics collection, on a website, or individually, either for sale or free, create a competing product from them to sell or redistribute, and are not allowed to trade or share this kit. You may not add to or distort, alter or re-colour any graphic and claim them as your own. You may not make any graphics into tubes or brushes and redistribute them in any way. Do not use these images for obscene, defamatory, or immoral works or for any other purpose that is prohibited by law... that's just gross.

I would love to hear from you and see your work... email me at: sliden@hotmail.com

My Poor Kiddos

See their happy little faces? Well... I'm not so sure they'll look like this later today. It's shot day for my little guys. I've been putting off getting their MMR shot because I read way too much on the internet about people linking that shot with Autism. However, there have been a lot of Mumps outbreaks in the Midwest lately and that can lead to high fevers and sterility, so I am going to go ahead and do it. Plus, Marina has to have 2 MMR shots before she enters kindergarten by law and I don't want to get them too close together. She'll start school in 2007.

I think shots are harder on the Mommies than the kids ;o). Ice cream for everyone, lol!

2 Uploads and a FREEBIE!

I have the hardest time finding papers for layouts with my husband in them, so I created 2 sets in very masculine colors and patterns for the men (and boys) in your life. I just sent them to Liddy's Loft boutique, so look for them in the next few days. Here's a preview:

Plaid Pajamas
$3.50

This mega paper pack comes with 10 slightly shabby, textured papers in plaids and solids. There are plenty of colors to coordinate with your photos. You can get multiple layouts out of this one pack!

Cool and Casual
$2.50

This masculine set comes with 7 textured and distressed papers. Each plaid pattern comes with a matching slightly shabby solid. Perfect for all your boys, guys and even grandparents pages!

and here's a FREEBIE for ya. I posted this at RAK Scraps too. It's for the member mega RAK and the theme this month is twins. I didn't do too much with the twin theme, since not everyone has twins ;o). As you can see, they also coordinate with my new paper packs. Enjoy!

I'm Officially a Designer!

How exciting... I just got accepted to sell my kits at Liddy's Loft, an awesome shabby-chic boutique that I just disovered last week. Here's the link for anyone who hasn't seen the site yet:
http://liddysloft.com/boutique/index.php?main_page=products_new

I've been a graphic designer for about 12 years now, but designing digital kits has occupied my brain since I discovered this awesome hobby last September. I swear, most of my dreams involve designing kits. I can't even go to the mall without looking at patterns and thinking how they would make great papers, lol! It's crazy! Fun, fun, fun hobby though.

Off to find a freebie to post....
